Youth Hub
We are looking for volunteers who can help us man the youth hub, mentor the youths or conduct activities with the youths on a weekly basis.
Sports & Adventure
Have a passion for sports? We are actively looking for volunteers who can commit for at least half a year, and have a heart for the youths to make a difference in their lives!
Creative Arts
Volunteers who have skill sets or interest in arts such as Crafts, Cooking, Dancing and Music are welcome.
Tuition
Giving tuition to youth-at-risk, where you will be able to motivate and mentor them towards success in their studies and in their lives.

(a) Family @ Werkz Resource Speaker/ Associate Trainer
If you have a gift for training, passion for seeing transformation in people’s lives, loves to interact with people and hear their stories, then you’re the one we’re looking for! Be a speaker and trainer with us. Training areas will accommodate your personal training and preferences. Commitment is on an ad-hoc basis.
Senior Services
Senior
(a) Befriender
- Providing a listening ear, support, encouragement and friendship to seniors.
- Either weekday or weekend (if the Centre is open for fitness programme on some Saturdays).
- For befriending on Saturdays, volunteers will also be playing board games while befriending seniors.
(b) Home or Hospital Visitation
- Play the same role as befriending.
- Additional roles are sometimes there is a need to do running errands such as buying food & daily provision, accompanying seniors for various medical appointments at polyclinics/ hospitals.
(c) Creative Art
- Teaching seniors to dance and/or sing in relaxing and fun manner.
- Teaching a group of seniors on various art works such as making handicraft for various festive seasons, home decoration etc.
- The creative art sessions are focusing on building relationship and bonding among the seniors instead of professional guidance on dancing and sing.
(d) Language & Cultural Lessons
- Teaching simple English, Bahasa, Mandarin or even foreign language in a fun manner and for daily living application.
- Sharing on some ethnic and foreign cultural elements to expand seniors’ perspective.
(e) Professional Speakers/Trainers
- Be an ad hoc or regular speaker for Gray Matters Centre which promotes education and training services to seniors and caregivers related to ageing issues.
- Areas of talks/ training include geriatric and nursing care, legal, finance etc.
(f) Fitness Support
- Be a fitness support to help seniors to follow through instruction from physiotherapist/ trainers during the fitness session.
- Providing hands-on support especially to seniors who have low mobility.
(g) Various Logistics Support
- Driving the van with Class 3 license to fetch seniors with low mobility from their house to Centre to participate in activities.
- To wheel the seniors who are wheelchair bound directly from their house to Centre for activities.
- Help setting up the fitness programme on Saturdays such as arranging tables and chairs at the HDB void deck.
(h) Administrative Support
- Familiar with Microsoft Office.
- Data key-in for various database and resources documentation.
- Making phone calls and/or follow up with seniors or volunteers for various programmes’ registration.
(i) Community Outreach to Seniors & Caregivers
- We are organising various community outreach programmes to identify high-risk seniors and publicise our works on seniors from time to time.
- Among the outreach programmes are door knocking at HDB rental blocks, circulating flyers at the wet market & hawker centres, setting up exhibition booths at the usual seniors hang-out corners etc.
